Default SC300 compared to Soarer rear brakes

So I ordered a set of aftermarket slotted rear brakes and pads. Having a problem though...The rotor is smaller than the OEM rotor. I installed it anyways and slapped the pads on. Noticed the pads were on there, but also hang off. Creating a problem down the line that they will eventually wear down and come into contact with eachother.

I had contacted my friend/previous owner of the car and found out it was a complete rear subframe swapped from a Soarer. Kind of shocked and stumped still. I know sizes can vary US spec to JDM, but I don't see how the brakes could've been different. Does anyone know if they are different sizes or did this company I ordered my parts from have their sizes wrong? OR if they are different sizing, what company can I order from with Soarer parts?

Cliffnotes: I have ordered aftermarket slotted rotors that are smaller than my OEM rotors. I found out I have a complete Soarer rear subframe swap and I am wondering if the brakes are actually different sizing or did the company I order from just not have their sizes down correctly?

I feel so confused on this whole thing, lol, but interesting to know I have Soarer parts on my car.

Did you order parts for a Soarer, SC300 or SC400?

AFAIK, the SC400 brakes are comparable to JZZ30/UZZ32, whereas the SC300 brakes are comparable to JZZ31/UZZ30/UZZ31.

From memory, the brakes on the V8's, except the UZZ32, have smaller rotors all round... I found out after trying to slap on 15" V8 wheels on to the back of my old turbo Soarer (16" stock).

The information for my order was for a '95 SC300.

I'm slightly confused out of all that information....well..my car too...now I need to findout what soarer subframe I actually have on. So are you using I need the sc400 brakes and not the 300's?

If I remember right the:

JZZ30 Soarer has 307mm rear rotors (12.09in)
JZZ31 Soarer has 290mm rear rotors (11.42in)

The measurement of your existing rotors should tell you which model it came off of; I'm leaning on the JZZ31.

Wait...my OEM Rotors are larger than the aftermarket ones.

So that would mean JZZ30, not JZZ31....right?
Comparing that to BLK13X's information, that means I do need the SC400 rears and not 300's.

You need sc400 or mkiv supra NA rear rotors.

Dammit...and I wrote an email in an angry matter towards the company, now I look like the fool, lol, but I guess I just gotta tell 'em what's going on and hopefully get a swap with them.

So do I have to just return the rotors or the pads as well?

No only the rotors are different. The pads are the same. Only the caliper bracket is bigger on the sc400/SoarerTT/supra.

Thank you everyone for all the help and information! Hopefully I can get this all straightened out this week.

Makes me wonder why they would make such a silly design change like that if the pads are the same for all models.

Edit: Woohoo for Post 100 by me!

There´s no need to make bigger pads to stop better. If the discs are bigger, then the pads are doing less effort to stop your car because they are farer from the center than in smaller discs. Simply physics =)
And good for you! You have better than OEM brakes for free!
