well, usually i can tell the real deal from rice. Brembo's r huge, usually on nice slotted/cross drilled rotors (and if they rn't, they r still huge rotors), while "rice" calipers r usually stock tiny calipers on stock rotors (which rn't very large on our cars). My vote is still for black

Red calipers on silver looks sharp and I like it for now. I will probably change mine to silver in a couple of months after it gets old. The red really stands out when you are driving...

A lot of the import guys with stock calipers paint theirs red, yellow, etc. It would be one thing if people did it only if they had upgraded brakes, but with so many people doing it on their stockers and usually accompanied with a big exhaust tip and Top Fueler sized rear wing, it has sadly changed the impression of many as being just another stereotypical, low budget, wanna be, boy racer mod.

If it wasn't for that, I don't think topic would be as controversial as it is.

To a 12 year old, it may be something neat, because they've never seen it before, to a high schooler it may be the cool "in thing" just because everyone's doing it, to someone who's a little older and who's been through those previous stages in their life, it may be time show your age and stay away from what the "kids" are doing.

I don't say these things to get down on anyone because of their age, especially because my personally taste would of selected blue on my silver car.

I struggle with mods like this because of the fear of looking a little too rice or having people think a much younger person owns my car.

Call me an old fart, but I'm going to do mine in "understated" black.

To each his own, right?

PS- Anyone want to buy my rice blue Lexus "L" emblems?

rominl,

Personally, I tend to the subtle. I'll probably go with a silver or black. But you... What the heck, it's only paint -- treat'em like finger nails and go for a new color every week. [Ahem, that's not to say I do that to my nails. ]

Yeah to RMM's point, painted calipers are pretty played out so this is the exact reason why I am thinking about moving from red to silver.... I just bought the car so I am doing a little experimenting - it's good practice!!

Default Whatever you decide for Wed., I'll be there.

To your point Synergy,
it doesn't hurt to experiment and sometimes you just have to try it and live with it a while to see how you like it.

I wish these dAmN emblems came in black or silver, cuz that's what I would prefer. I bugged the guy who sells these to see if they would make me black, but no progress so far.

I trying on the Blue for size, but am contemplating to try the ricer red or mellow white emblems.

My wheel center caps currently match too.
