it's my Megan coils making the clinking, clanking noise.
I couldn't figure out for a while what the clinking, clunking noise in the rear was when going over rough roads on both pass/driver side.So I took the wheel off and jacked it up went under and used a 2x4 to lift it up/down and the noise is coming from the top post of my Megan coilovers.I tightened everything down am i missing something here?Anyone else have this issue?
Thanks

The top nut on the shock is never tight from the factory. Damn chinese dont know how to use an impact. Take the adjuster off (by turning the bottom section of it) then impact the nut on the shock. If it still makes noise, well your going to have to live with it.

If it is spring rubbing noise all you have to do is dampen where the spring meets the top of the strut tower with nylon or rubber sleeve for the spring. Or a rubber pad.
My GF's stock 08 Sentra makes a ton of spring noise. I thought the steering rack was blown or something. The springs rub the top of the shock tower as they yaw a little. Metal on metal.

make sure all the lock collers are tight. If they are loose they make noise too. I had a clunk in the front and turned out to be the sway bar end link that was bad. Also there was a post about the subframe being loose and causeing noise.

If you are using a pillow-ball top hat like a Megan LP and you are getting a clink/pop type noise from the top of the coilover, it's more than likely the pillow-ball bearing making noise.
Always check the locking rings first to make sure they are tight since it's easy.
Next, tighten that 17mm nut to 50-60ft-lbs.
If that doesn't do it, chances are your pillow ***** are toast and you will need to replace the top hats (the pillow ***** are pressed into the top hats and I don't know that Megan offers these separately). Megan racing charges about $300-350 for the replacement hats (4).
