Default Steering/Tramlining/possible brake issues

Alright. 1998 SC300. Down to business, i got it a few months ago, ever since then i started to notice how my car would follow all the grooves and ridges in the road. I'm not sure if this was due to my new wheels/tires as i've heard that different wheels/tires can result in tramlining. And i've checked all the nuts/bolts/bushings, everything checks out. Now another thing that i'm not quite used to, is that steering itself. It is supposed to be so easy to turn the wheel? Of the cars that my family owns, it's the easiest wheel to turn. Not sure if this is normal as i've never driven any other SC than mine. And i guess, for brakes, well, i believe i have warped rotors. I think. When i'm applying the brakes at speed, the steering wheel will start to judder and shake back and forth. The brake shimmy, on top of my tramilining problem, results in some very scary braking situation, and some interesting highway manuevers...lol.

Any advice?

And yes, brakes are going to be fixed for sure, just waiting to find some LS400 calipers.

Carlo

Any slack in the steering U-joint?

Mine was blown when I got it, and thought it was a front end part.

I think the steering u-joint will start to pop up more and more as these things age.

Steering u-joint? Which one(s)? There's one in the bay, and i'm assuming there's one in the cockpit. I'll go check those now.

Thanks!

Hmmmm. So there's no play in them. Hardly any play at all in the wheel too. Anyone got a clue?

Sorry to hijack your thread but does anyone know if the steering column u-joint (either one) has rubber in it and if so is there a replacement that can be bought?
