Default Replace OEM struts...need alignment?

I will be getting an alignment done when they change the front control arm bushings on my car.

At some point, I am thinking about replacing the OEM struts with either OEM or Tokico (price).

Will it then be necessary to get another alignment when I replace the struts? I am not going to lower the car, etc., although it may ride slightly higher since I'd be replacing 20 year old struts. The car only have 88K miles on it and rides fine, but it seems like it might not be a bad idea.

Also, what are the part numbers for the OEM stuts? Are the 97+ struts the same as 92-96? Typically the parts for the 97+ are easier to come by and less expensive.

Thanks in advance...

It's good to get an alignment done anytime you do suspension work; I think it's highly unlikely it would be out of spec if you're simply changing out struts though.

Ride height shouldn't be affected by the struts alone, as they provide dampening and shock absorption. Unless you are also replacing springs, that's where you may notice a change in height due to spring sag.

As far as 92 - 96 and 97+ components? I'm not sure. Aftermarket coilovers are listed the same for all; I would think factory stuff should be the same.

Thanks, yea, I'm not changing any springs, just the struts at some point.

I'll just change the bushings and get the alignment and later on down the road get the struts. I didn't really have money for it.

Hopefully someone knows about the 97+ struts, if they work, and the part number...

Those are the struts I'm thinking about getting. I would like to keep the ride as close to OEM, so I'm hoping these aren't that much different.

Sc's use shocks all around not struts so no need for an alignment.
