Default BC coil owners what's your spring rate?

Before I place my order just wondering what spring rate most of you are running, the standard 10/8? My main concern is wanting to maintain OEM ride quality. Circuit motorsports said would make a customized spring set up. But im wondering if that is even necessary. Is the 10/8 comfortable enough?

No matter what you do it not gonna be oem ride. 10/8 is standard spring rate for all the coilover kit I've seen on the IS. Go higher and you get a stiffer ride.

+1. OEM spring rates are 6/6kg i think. So if you want something similar, you better get a softer spring rate. All coils or spring that are changed will make the ride harsher.

I was thinking about going custom spring rate also but, i'm afraid going softer will make it bottom out and bouncy. Can some with softer sring rate chime in.

well I see people on here with the standard rates and claiming they ride close to stock. I actually havent seen anyone on here who said they had a softer spring rate. What are the downfalls of a softer rate? We all want ride quality so why wouldnt we all get a softer spring rate?

Adjust the dampening and it should be fine but it won't be close to stock feel

i had the standard rates before, they felt nothing close to stock comfort. If i knew how they felt before buying them, i would have went softer.

Everybody gets the standard rates, because thats what they recommend, but its your judgement, how your roads are. Its how you judge comfort.

We don't all judge comfort on the same level. So until you actually ride in a car with the coil setup. You can't tell if its something that you think will work for you or needs to be softer.

In my opinion, they are just a tad bit too stiff for me, but thats me. It might feel stock to you. But like i said its all on peoples judgement of them.

Yup, it's all subjective.

Some guys say the 10/8 is too soft, or too stiff or it's perfect. IMO the 10/8 is a good setup for an all around street/handling setup.

yeah I called BC, they advised me to go with 10/8. they said 8/6 may be to soft causing fender rub.
