Default OK got my BC coils....

now how the hell do you adjust these things? lol. This is my first set and the directions look like they were written by a 3rd grader. I didnt touch anything on them. I guess im going to have them installed the way they came out of the box. Hopefully its driveable for a couple days until I get time to make the adjustments. If someone has a diagram to show how to adjust and what not to touch that would be great, thanks

I found a local shop. going to meet the guy tomorrow and show him my coils. he said he has put them on audi's before. so he does have some experience with them. I just would like to know how the hell to use them before hand

so you loosen the bottom ring a little. then to lower the car you would turn the very top ring that sits under the spring? to raise you turn the ring that sits just under the very top ring? then once you have it set you lock it in by tightening the bottom ring?

But i thought messing with the top ring under the spring will screw up the spring tension? or as long as the bottom locking ring is loose it wont do that?

Correct, the way you stated it is 100% correct. It will not effect spring preset. Thats all you have to do.

I was told you dont mess with the top 2 rings under the spring because thats the preload which is factory set. The only ring im suppose to turn is the bottom one. Can anyone confirm this. Also ive seen in pics the bottom ring raised up exposing threads. are you then suppose to turn the ring down to the base to make sure the coils are locked in place?

the way you stated it in a earile post is correct.. thats how you do it. just have the bottom ring tighten down on the base to lock it all in...

The preload can be adjusted to what ever you like.

I know that but its factory set. I dont want to mess with it. Im not one of those guys who wants to rip apart there car every weekend messing with things. I want to set my coils up and never touch them again.

But I think I got it anyway. once I loosen the lower ring I turn the entire coil by turning the upper to rings. they are turning against one another allowing the coil to turn. I was under the impression that would mess with the preload but its not.

so much misinformation in here. i posted this several time. do not touch the 2 rings under the spring. that is what sets the preload.

Here is the proper way to adjust them

and if you want to raise it you turn the smaller upper ring counter clockwise, right?

correct, just turn the opposite direct. do not adjust or unlock those 2 rings under the spring though and thats your preload.

just got them installed and so far I love them!!!! I was stressing hard from hearing about problems with them here and there. But i drove the car for about 25min. and so far no strange noises or clunking. Although I do feel a little vibration when at a complete stop. But I think that was there to begin with, maybe just a little more being its lowered? I have all 4 corners set to 15 clicks and the ride comfort is not bad at all. I will adjust as I go along.
