Default F-Sport Sway Bar rear only

2007 Lexus IS 350

There was a massive different in handling around corner when the F-Sport Sway bar was installed but I felt the ride comfort was not Lexus like.. so I am considering putting back my regular FRONT sway-bar and keeping the Rear F-Sport sway bar.

How much of a different in handling around the corner is there with only the rear sway bar and will the Lexus comfort ride comes back. Any suggestion would be helpful.

unless you're driving over very uneven surfaces a sway bar should have no impact on ride comfort.

When I changed the rear bar on my F, I did notice a slightly stiffer ride, not much, but it was a wee bit stiffer. So, IMHO, the bars do affect the ride, but in a good way

Just 2 weeks ago I installed the F-Sport rear sway only on my 2007 IS350. I immediately noticed a huge improvement in cornering, with far less body roll than before. I noticed no change whatsoever in ride quality or comfort.

You realize the front sway bar was only like a 3% difference in stiffness on the 350's? IMO if you already have the fronts on it's highly unlikely you'll notice any difference once you change it back out. I installed the rear sway a week ago and love the improved handling around corners and have not noticed any decrease in comfort.

According to Lexus' website, on the IS350, the swaybars are a 42.8% increase up front and 151.5% increase in the rear... on the IS250 however, its 46.6% up front and 6.3% in the rear. Indicating that the rear swaybar on the 250 is actually a lot stiffer than the 350. While the front bars on both cars are relatively the same.

No disrespect Mr. Moderator, but if you go to this thread:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sus...ar-thread.html

And do your homework, you'll find that the Lexus numbers are not worth the paper they're printed on The OEM sway bars on all ISX50s are the same. Again, the IS250 RWD and IS350 RWD come from the factory with the same front/rear Sway Bars.

lexus has posted at least 2 different sets of #s on the difference the F-sport bars make.

neither one of them makes any sense, since as Lou mentioned the 250 and 350 have the same bars stock and the F-sport bars the same for the 25 and 350 as well.

What I would go by is the fact that the couple of people who have actually DONE this (ie they put only the rear bar on, then later added the front) have all reported basically the following:

Rear bar makes a big difference.

Front bar also makes a significant and noticeable, albeit not as huge, difference.

Based on that I continue to suggest folks buy both bars for the maximum improvement.

I hate when manufacturers give us percentage increase in stiffness because it means jack. Give us the spring rates!!

Does it make a difference if I put F sport sway bars on my rear & front. I'm planning on lowering my car. Already ordering new Megan coils. Just wondering if I need this mod

do both, I ran rear only for 2 weeks but ended up getting the front. Felt a lot more balanced with the front
