Im currently thinking about dropping my car which is also an AWD model. Ive considered springs long and hard, but i worry that my stock shocks will blowout causing more trouble. This is why ive decided to go with coilovers. However for springs you should look into H&R-1.4 inch drop, F-Sport-1 inch drop, or Road Magnets- 2 inch drop. Many vendors sell them here, and they are in the classified section frequently. As for coilovers our options are BCR racing or Megan Ez. BCR runs a little under 1000 and Megan Ez are 650. BCR have better rep from what i hear but i wanna save money. Hope this helps goodluck!

I have a used set of Road Magnets. I had them on the car for maybe 1500 - 2000 miles, then I switched to BCR Coils. I'm planning on selling them but right now they are still on the stock struts. I just haven't had time to take them off and get them up for sale. I am going to CO next week for work for about 2 1/2 weeks. But let me know if your interested. We can work something out when I get back.

My car needs a drop bad. I've been going back and forth between deciding on springs or coils. Everyone on here that ha springs went to coils. So maybe I should just do coilovers? I don't want an aggreasice stance by any means. Im running 18s and I just want to get ride of the tire/fender gap. Are springs ok in the sense of reliability? Do u have trouble bottoming out oe struts with roadmagnets? or HR?

I'm lowered on Teins and they are not that aggressive in terms of drop but much better looking than stock 4 x 4, imho. So far, no issues at all. Many good reviews of them on this forum.

Good luck!

I have the same dillema as you. I have an awd and really want to lower my car to rid of the wheel gap as well. Plan to drop it 1-1.5 inches, its my DD. I would go springs but i fear that my stock shocks will blowout too soon. Only way i would go springs is if i got the F-sport+Shock combo, but that is basically the price of coilovers. Right now im debating whether to get Megan EZ or BCR. Megan EZ is much cheaper and is much more tempting but everyone seems to go with BCR. Im tight on money and fear that coilovers may cause problems for me such as blowing out too early and making me pay more of my time and cost of labor. There is also a common complaint about the BCR causing the car to vibrate at certain speeds, which makes me more hessitant. I now also plan to get spacers which will add a few 100 on to my expenses. I may have to lower next spring.... I hear good things about Megan EZ so far but no one has really had them on all that long. Hopefully there will be more ppl that get the Megan EZ and review them in the long term, so i can feel confident with that purchase. If you have the money go with BCR i would say. Most of the AWD ppl here have them and no problems besides some ppl have vibration. The only thing stopping me is money. I cant stand to see 1000 being spent on just an inch or two haha.

The shock blowout thing with moderate lowering springs is non-issue.
