A tsb is not a recall, or anything they "have" to do. Its to help technicians when a customer has a problem/compliant and its a common thing. Yeah at 1mm it seems to them like your trying to get free brakes.

Ps just to clarify why they would not change them. You are going in for the complaint dusty brakes. Your pads are 1mm, meaning almost gone. Of course they are going to be dusty when you are blasting through them. Just providing there perspective, plus if they sent in those pads to cover under warranty (which is already very hard for a wear item) they would get denied and be charged back for it. ISs all have pretty dusty brakes, softer pads-better braking-more dust

The dealer "has" to to do the TSB if the customer has the specific complaint.

That's what the TSB is for, and why it explicitly states on the TSB that the repair is covered as part of the vehicle warranty.

And FYI- the low-dust pads brake exactly as well as the high-dust ones. Changing your pads will change the "feel" and the amount of dust produced, but it doesn't change your stopping distance.

Yeah did not mean anything about the stopping distance talking about dust, just why they were so dusty vs other cars.

And did not mean it as broad as they wont fix it if its a specific complaint, was just meaning it in the context of the brake pads being almost gone. Like you cant buy road hazard on a tire, run it to 1mm and hit something and get a new tire. (I do think they prorate though, so maybe you can try to talk the dealership into half/half?)

id honestly look into another brake pad anyway. the stopping ability is poor compared to the regular pads. some describe it as a "smoother" stop which it very well may be. But there is a big difference in stopping power from the older pads to these low dust. you need to pay a little extra attention and plan your stops with the newer pads. Or you will find yourself stepping on the brake to almost the floor to come to a stop. im going to look into another brand after these wear. but they sure do the job very well of having no brake dust, lol

no, there isn't.

Both will stop the car in exactly the same distance.

your pads don't change your stopping distance.

if you have to put the pedal almost to the floor to stop there is something wrong with your brakes. Might want to have them looked at.
