Master Brake Cylinder / Rebuild Kit?
#17
Give the age, and the mystery of whether it will actually resolve the problem, and for the price of these parts and repair, I wonder if you shouldn't just sell the car?

Sell the car because of incompetence to figure it out? If this is the case, take it to the mechanic/dealer and have them fix it..
You can buy whole 2001 and up MC UNIT from Vendors on here for @$350 range...But Yet your telling him to sell the car..
ID SAY FROM YOUR RECENT 10 YEAR OLD THREAD BUMPS TO FIGURE OUT PROBLEMS THAT THE ANSWERS ARE UNDER YOUR NOSE...MAYBE YOU SHOULD SELL YOUR CAR.

1998 LX 470- Needs ABS master cyl module?
Hey, I have a 1998 LX470 with 235,000 and the brake pedal had been intermittently sinking to the floor and while at a stop light the car just starts to move forward. No alerts, lights flashing or anything to warn of the ABS failing. Brakes done year and a half ago and recently checked to see if they needed to be bled etc. Took to our repair shop when it got worse and was told we needed ABS Master Cylinder module at $3,900. estimate! Damn, I love this car and put a new AC condenser and fuel pump in just 5 mos ago? This shop will not offer used or rebuilt. Is it worth doing this repair on this car? I would be happy to keep it longer and don't want a damn car payment......
