Default My alignment specs

So I got an alignment today and currently, all I have are coilovers with not suspension arms. Mechanic told me that he gave me toe in to compensate a slight bit for the amount of camber i'm running (~-2.5)

He gave me .25 in the front and .31 in the rear. Is this alright for maximizing tire tread life? I've always thought that one should zero out toe for maximum tread life regardless of how much camber they're running. I've only seen people run toe for stability on highways and such, but that's usually only in the rear.

Inputs guys? They agreed to spec it the way I want, but they stand by their decision to give me that much toe in.

That's a lot for the front. Toe-in won't correct for camber, and you're getting very close to the limits for acceptable street camber. 2IS's seem to like zero front toe best. Dead on zero too.

I've been to like 5 alignment shop in the past 3 months.. the last 2 that I went(Jc autohouse and evasive motorsports) both recommended me .04 for the front(on each side of course) and .12 for the rear(on each side) for the best DD result. FYI I'm dropped on f-sport springs and those are toe's setting.

You might want to look at this thread before making recommendations.

I've read your thread when you first posted it.. plus you track your car and he doesn't. Even with your current setting you still wearing unevenly. Iono for sure my setting will work. We'll juat have to see. I'm just stating what the known alignment shops in socal are recommending that's all

No, my current setting is toed in more than what I got from my last alignment. It says in the thread I added a half turn total (1/4 turn each side) to bring the toe in another 0.75mm from Gran Turismo's setting. Track work means nothing to inside edge wear with this car. Your outside shoulder blocks will melt long before the insides have any issues at all.

The other important take away from the thread is each full turn on the rack equals 1.5mm toe change, so if you know where you started, you can tweak it yourself if you start to see bad wear.

So I'm going to go back and ask for 0 front and maybe .1 toe in in the back if they can. Or at least as close to .1 they can get it. What do you guys think? I'm just trying to get the most tread life out of these tires.

The OEM settings for the rear are fine. I got 31k and perfectly even wear across my rear tires. The only real issue is the front, and after my experience, I believe we need dead on zero front toe for tire wear.

The good news is, you can loosen the tie rod ends, crank them a half turn out on each side, and you're all set for a track day. Just set it back to the original setting after the track and you're golden.
