Default Sport Design Upper Control Arms (Ball Joints)

Hey guys, I wanted to know if anyone here knows the difference between the Sport Design upper control arms and the normal ones. I can't imaging anything would be different but all have the same part numbers except the Sport Design. Do the ball joints possibly take more of an angle? Anyone have the answer to this?

I wouldn't count on that. I say it's the same. I would be more concerned with the LBJ instead.

I would have thought so too, but also when I was looking to buy new ones they said it fits all GS's 98-05 excluding the Sport Designs. I've just recently replaced my lowers and I have RCA's so they should be fine.

sport design uses the same arm from the 1gs (95-97). its a bit more beefier and sturdy (arms themselves). I have 1gs arms on my car instead of 2gs -- a alot more better ride.

per your thread

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...-03-gs300.html

the 2nd gen and the 1st gen share the same control arm, which actually is a well known fact, but i was unaware the SD has the same control arms as the 1st gen since i was still under the impression that the SD used a beefier arm than all of the gs models.

since u neither have a SD nor bought SD arms (since from what i can tell from your pics, you just bought 1gs arms and 2nd gen gs arms since NO PLACE in that thread do you EVER mentions SD arms) how do u know they are the same? or are those 2nd gen arms u show in your thread actually SD arms and you just never mention that they are?

im all about having a debate with proof but i would prefer to do it without the snippy comments at the end of you post i didnt even bother posting....

i know you sold your SC (dunno why as that thing was nice) and you bought another one right? why sell a modified SC to remod a sc? i troll the SC section from time to time and happened to see you had another build going

I totally forgot about this thread. Ya I did a bit of digging around and the 1GS and 2GS SD have the same part numbers with it comes to the front upper arms which is a little beefier than the regular 2GS upper arms

1GS and 2GS (02-03' 2GS and 96-97' 1GS) front uca are the exact same. No difference. When I purchased one side locally, the manager (CarQuest) told me that the arms came up as interchange in their system. I could have also used SC430 arms but I just wanted to see if the GS ones fit.

There are no specs but buy taking a look at the actual arms -- they fit 100% and beefier and feel more sturdy.

Got an alignment and everything done.

No issues

and the only reason why the 02-03 2GS part numbers are the same as the 1GS is because thats the only years the Sport Design was available. Here are all the part numbers to to clear up any questions
