that looks like the wrong lower bracket for the rear shock. it should be larger and lower

yes one of my friends told me the same thing but he into volkswagons. u have a pic of your rear top mount ??

From looking at the pics, both the top and bottom bolts seem like they are making contact with the brackets.

I dunno if that would make a difference but or the rear plate n bolts. You're suppose to notch/grind down where the bolts sit so the bolts sit flush with the strut plate. I know cuz I just installed the same setup late week.
