Ok here is my experience so far.

I went to Home Depot and found the Rustoleum. It’s black 1200 degree paint.
Only problem is it’s EXTREMELY FLAT. No gloss what so-ever. (Tested it on a piece of metal)

So I went down to Kragen and found the Dupli-color 1200 degree black paint but again it’s “Flat” Black!!!

The only Dupli-color high temp engine paint that is GLOSS is 500 degrees.

My question is: If I use the 500 degree Dupli-color, will it withstand the temperature that the calipers get up to??

Another thing is, my Calipers are extremely rusty!!! I mean VERY rusty. (Bought the car used and the owner let it sit under a cover for 12 months while he drove his new 740i BMW. Should I just wire-brush the rust off and use Brake Cleaner to clean them off?

I’m afraid the rust will come back with the Dupli-color. I wouldn’t be so afraid if I used Rustoleum but of course I can’t use that because it’s so FLAT black that it almost looks gray!!

A.) Is there something I can prime the rust with?
B.) Will the 500 degree paint withstand the temperature the calipers get up to?

I used rustoleum and after about 4 solid coats it looks plenty glossy. One coat doesn't cut it and it looks grey, but after 4-5 coats it will look great.....

Take a look at mine again:

Also, you can buy 500 degree clear which you can put over the rustoleum and you are set. I haven't done it yes, but plan to in order to protect the sticker.

i am using the 500 degree paint for the rear calipers. it should be ok, i don't know how hot the calipers could get, but 500 degrees is really hot. rmmgs4 also use the 500 degree paint on his car.

i don't know how rusty you talking about, but always use caliper / brake spray cleaner to clean the stuff before painting. spray the whole thing and then use kitchen paper to rub them. if you have some serious rust, you should brush or sand them off first

I just got my Caliper Stickers from Ted Chrzanowski.
His E-mail address is: ted920@hotmail.com
For $17 he'll send you the full set. I sent him $20 just because he was a very cool guy to talk to and
he was very prompt in responding and helping me out with any questions I had.
I highly recommend getting in contact with Ted if you want these stickers. He's a great guy to do
business with.

I found some Black 900 degree High-Gloss "Caliper Paint" at Pep Boys.
Wire brushed any rust off then cleaned them really good with Brake Cleaner.
After masking off the Rotors with newspaper and masking tape I sprayed on 4 solid coats.
They came out very nice.

Here are a couple pics of my calipers right after putting the stickers on:

just make sure you put on clear coat as well otherwise the sticker will peel off or get dirty easily
