BC Racing Coils Slammed or Flush w/ Spacers?
So I just purchased some BC Racing coils and I'm going to install them sometime next month. My buddy that is installing them said he will only do it for me if I let him slam the car to the lowest setting. If I do this and later decide that I want to raise the car and get some spacers, will I have to get another alignment?
For those of you that kept your stock wheels and went with spacers, what do you think looks the best, what specs did you go with, and would you please post some pics?
Also, what route do you think I should go? Slammed or Flush w/ spacers?
Thanks in advance for your opinions.

I have to ask you this question first.. are you ready and know how drive a car that low? Because if not, you are going to do some damage you might regret later. BC coilovers can go pretty low, just saying.. but if you're fine driving slammed, you gotta flush out them wheels because the massive camber will make the stock wheels look super sunkin in. Also another thing, anytime you adjust the height, you throw off the toe so you will need another alignment.

Anxious to see pics. Just a little FYI. The Firestones in STL offer lifetime alignments for a little more than the cost of 2 alignments. You may want to look into that if you plan on lowering/raising often.

I really don't want to slam the car, but my boy is forcing me to do it. I rather not have to deal with rubbing issues or eating tons of tires, but he is stubborn and installing them for free.
Should I just let him do what he wants and then raise it up at the alignment shop? How long does it take to raise the car?

umm grow a pair and tell your boy that you don't want it that low. It's YOUR car, and you ultimately have to drive it [rubbing, driving style], maintain it [tires, alignments], PAY for it, and love it. If you don't want it that way, don't get it that way, no one is FORCING you to do anything. I really don't understand why you're willing to pay for extra alignments or other people to eventually raise it after the fact, then you are not willing to pay to get it done the way you want it in the first place.

I don't feel like spending over $200 having someone install them, which is why I'm letting him do it. As for the alignment, I figured I could just raise it up when it's on the lift and they wouldn't charge me since I'm already paying for the alignment. It doesn't take that long to raise them, does it? And no one ever said I was willing to pay for extra alignments....hence the reason why I started this thread to get feedback.

just tell your "boy" to stop being an asshat and help you out and pay him less than $200 to do it right. In honesty it wont take much to readjust the height on a lift, but then you'd have to drive with/by your boy and he'll laugh at you because you raised it. That's a big IF with the shop, who knows maybe they'll end up charging you to do your adjustments.

No offense but how old is your "boy"? He sounds like he's a high school kid who is still into peer pressuring people.
My advice is to skip out on him cause if he would make someone slam their car to do an install, I have my doubts about his wrenching skills. You may be better off to pay someone $200 to install and raise the car to your preference.

He is a senior in college and has installed a bunch of suspensions on a bunch of different cars including BMW, Infiniti, Audi, Lexus, etc. with no problems. I'm not worried about his skills at all...he is just one of those people that loves to be LOW.
