Obviously, you don't want to cut any coils. Let's leave any spring cutting to back in the days when all you had back then was either aftermarket springs w/ up to 2" drop or hydraulics lol. When you're torching/heating the top coils (to desired height, then cooling it instantly), you're still pretty much riding on a full stock spring set up. It's kind of ironic that my car still has that "rides like a lexus" stock feel, but sooner or later your shocks are going to wear and eventually go out (which is always the case once any car is lowered). I'm in the process of purchasing coilovers right now and doing my research (thanks to all the CL members!), but boy, I sure have a lot of friends w/ air suspension setups, and they're so convenient to have.

Haha yessir you're right. Lol I was stuck at a meet because my car wouldn't air up. I had to jump some wires on my manifold to air it up.

But OP on torching? Lol I did it back in 1989 to my 84 accord rode like a champ haha. And cut coils? I cut the coils on my BelAir and rides like crap! But it looks great! Thankfully you bought Coilovers already. Throw them on ASAP so you can scrape your lip all over TX
