Default Help with Supra TT Front Brake Conv. on SC300 (Shim and Fitting Kit?)

Hey guys,

i just purchased the supra TT front calipers to put on my 93 sc300. The seller of the calipers told me that I would need to purchase a shim and fitting kit. I tried searching the forums already but no luck. Can anyone point me in the right direction of where I could purchase them for a good price? I just need it for the front caliper conversion. Thanks

Stop by your local auto parts store or Toyota dealer and get the kit. Ask for caliper shim kit, they should know what it's for. Typically run about $15 - $20 a caliper depending who you get them from.

It's a direct bolt up so no shims needed unless he is talking about pad shims?

I think the OP is asking about the anti-rattle spring, pins and retaining wire.
Not sure though, OP do you have pad pins, anti-rattle spring and retaining wire?
If you do, xspsi6 is correct, direct bolt-on.

Hey guys, thanks for the quick feedback.

based on what the seller explained, I will need the shim kit and fitting kit. I didnt see any of the anti-rattle springs, pings and retaining wire, and yes I believe the shim kit is for the pads. Basically I will just be getting the calipers from him. I assume nothing else will come with them.

Can someone point me in the right direction of where to purchase these and how much will they cost?

thanks again for your help guys!

Go to your local toyota dealer or hit up Curt from Elmhurst and tell him what you need!

I was going to pull out my receipts from last year but you already found the part numbers. You do need those parts, plus some standard anti-squeal paste, whatever it is called. Make sure you install the anti-squeal parts correctly according to the Toyota Supra shop manual. It's a tedious swap but all bolt-on.

Elmhurst Toyota or Carson Toyota, since you're in Cali. Jose or Luis should be able to help you out.

Are you using dust shields for your swap? The system will work without them but you can install the correct TT shields by carefully using a Dremel with cutting wheel (buy a few wheels) to slice off the SC300 shields and notch the TT shields to pop on. The clearance to cut it very small so it does not pay to rush. From there, they bolt into the factory locations. It's better to install them that way instead of dismantling the entire hub. Dust shields were the most time consuming part of my swap but they were worth it to me since I travel in the desert sometimes.
