90% of people I've meet don't even know to take the load off the towers before you put the bar on as well.
You can put more tension on the studs to be a snugger fit when things start flexing, or you can keep it more relaxed (similar to putting the bar on with the wheels in the air vs on the ground).
It didn't make sense to me either until I started messing with the front bar to see the difference in a turn I take everyday.

I really do, the front helped out way more than I ever expected but right now it's off due to the PITA issue of my motor leaking oil and at the time trying to diagnose where it was coming from. I've been delaying due to the motor swap coming up but I'm really just too lazy to put it back on in the mean time. Running my business has drained me of energy to work on the car after hours

I purchased 1 of these rear strut tower bars from sdrcr771 for my 93 SC400. I had already removed the subwoofer which would have had to be done. Fitment was very good, took 30 min. taking my time. I took it out on a curvy 40-50- mile backroad that im very familiar with and you can see around all the curves. I pushed it as hard as I could and the rear stuck to the point of the rear tires breaking loose. The prev. owner just had rear struts installed so I couldnt compare a tightening up effect. I do know I need to get to work on the front end to match the tightness of the rear. It looks great and Im glad I jumped on it.
