swap out the top hat with your stock and see if this will cure the problem. I did the same thing with my JIC coilovers. I was on the freeway and litterally jumped my car over a steel plate in a small construction spot on the freeway. Closer home i heard the noise and the car felt different. i got home and realized i had a few bent wheels. Put on the stock wheels while the wheels were repaired. The noise was still present so I inspected the suspension and found nothing. tried recreating the sound by jacking up the rear hub and dropping it but came up with nothing. finally decided i would put in stock struts and see. After I did the sound deceaced. since I couldnt swap out the bottom I swapped out the top hat. While doing so I realized the had been shredde inside the top hat. I had to mod the stock top had, and had no pillowball. BUT the clunk was gone.
