Toms ADVOX Coilovers???? Please offer advice if you can.
Hey guys I have a chance right this second to purchase a pair of used coilovers from a local seller and Im wonderinf if anyone has any advice on the quality(or lack there of ) of these particular brand.
They are 'Toms ADVOX coilovers'.
Now I am able to get these for very cheap , or at least they seem very cheap and all I know about them is they are two seasons old, and they are able to adjust hight but not dampering.
Thye look very clean and in good condition.
My questions are, how much of a drop can I expect?
Is anyone running these already ?
And are these a name brand known for quality or are they some sort of knock off's or whatever?
Ive done some quick research and they seem to be quite rare and the pricing is all over the place.
Any advice would be really appreciated , thanks in advance.

Quality is very good no knock off stuff. You can slam all the way to the ground if you want to, that shouldnt be a problem. You also have shreder valve for nitrogen for damping and aluminum body to keep the weight down. I like their system because they are undestructable and can be rebuild at a coilover shops to your specs.
They were to soft for me, so I let my brother have them
These coilovers are very comfy to ride on!

^^^^^^^thanks so much guys
What is the downside of having a soft suspension?
Im not running track at all or anything like that ,,just cruising and looking for a nice drop.
I can get all four for $250.00 maybe even less if I bargain ,, does that seem fair for these coilovers?
Thanks alot guys uve been a big help already.
(edit) is it possible to somehow stiffen them , swap springs etc...?
Sorry fior the questions guys I am brand new to this coilover thing, thanks again.

I didnt find these advertised its from a person i did biz with b4,,,,,,,its quite possible he has them advertized as well though im not sure.
What should I be looking out for when purchasing used coilovers?
Is it easier or possible just to buy shorter springs for my stock set up?
looking for a drop of about 2-3 inches.

If you're just cruising and not doing any agressive driving you should be fine, your handling will improve too.
The normall goin rate for these in a good condition is about 6 to 900$, if you're getting them that cheap, you will need to dissasemble them and replace every bushing in a top hat (3 of them) shreder valve and the bottom bush as well as a full rebuild for the race spring of a choice. If you use any stiffer springs the ride quality will suffer, and youll destroy your shock time given, not to mention that your rear end will bounce uncontrolable all over the place ❌❌DANGEROUS IN A WET WEATER CONDITIONS>>>>>>>>I DON'T RECOMEND YOU DOING THAT!!!!!❌❌
The lower you go with soft coillovers the more issues you will have with wider wheel/tire combo, but caution: You will scrape fenders, your tires will also chew up your wiring, as well as camber issues and tire wear.
I hope that helps

Thanks man^^^^^^
its because of all these underlying issues that ive never really cared to get coilovers,,,,my ride as of right now runs ans handles fine and confortable,,I just would like a good drop.
Many times these mods and upgrades can cause more problems then they are worth.
The guy selling me the copilovers says they are in perfect working order...just swap them out and thats it,,,but they do seem very cheap ,,almost too good to be true ...well see .
thanks
