Default Anybody notice differences on the stock IS350 front rotors on different years?

When I first bought my '09 IS350 brand new, I noticed the front rotors are different than my cousin's '08 IS350. My front rotors are not vented where the hat/disc meet where on his, there is a visible vent, making it look like the hat/disc are separate. I'm talking about the frontside of the rotor, don't confuse this with the backside because those are all vented. I wonder why the change, and if my rotor single vent (only on the backside) design supercedes the older dual vent design (front and backside vented). I like the look of the dual vent design better. I would take some pictures for comparison but my cousin traded his IS350 for a '11 IS250 F-Sport.

The part number changed on USA-spec models in early 2009, Canada stayed the same.

Not sure why they changed your guys' rotors.
