Default F Sport Springs on '06 IS350 (With Pics!)

Let me preface this thread with the fact that I have done several mods to my car already, but that this one has definitely delivered the most bang for the buck! The springs cost me $240 (with shipping) from Sewell, and I did this install in about 5 hours. The suspension sticky threads and the Lexus directions that came with the springs were really all that I needed to get this done. The springs have settled a little over the last couple of days, and it looks even better now than it did when I finished the install. I took a few pics today after washing the car, and found some pics from over the summer that are very similar. Makes for a good comparison. Thanks to all of the CL members who have contributed to the threads with their installs, experience and expertise. Having CL as a resource make doing thing like this so much easier!

A few before pics.........

Now for the after pics that I took today..........

Just noticed the missing Lexus logos on the calipers in the before pics. HA! These pics are from when I painted the calipers. I painted them the day I took the pics, but waited until the next day to do the Lexus decals. For anyone thinking about painting their calipers and NOT using the decals, don't do it. Now that I see these pics, they look retarded without the white Lexus on them.

Hey Slammer!!

Awesome looking car you have their and definitively an improvement. I am looking to do exactly the same with my 2007 IS300 (the middle east only gets the IS250, IS300 and IS-F).

The springs lowered it around 1 inch in the front right?

Really looks absolutely great. Exactly the right amount for me.

Cheers,

Specs on the springs state that it is 1" front and right at 3/4" in the rear. I measured the difference right after installing the springs and got about 3/4" front and 1/2" rear, but it has dropped more since the suspension has settled over the last week. I will measure again later today. I have pics with a tape measure from before the install and believe it was 26.75" from the ground to the top of each wheel well.

Looking good! My F-sport springs are actually sitting in the box downstairs. I figured I'm going to go ahead and get the F-Sport shocks too.

How is the ride quality on OEM shocks? Or did you upgrade those too?

I am still on the factory shocks, and there is no difference in ride quality. It is smooth, but seems to corner a little better. Feels very tight. No issues or clunks thus far. I saw where some people would cut the rubber insulator, but I decided not to. When I eventually change the shocks, I will go to the F Sports, but saw no reason to drop an extra $600 when mine were fine.

Okay, before and after pics of measurement to the arch of each wheel well. Looks like I got pretty much exactly what they are supposed to drop it to.May be an 1/8" lower than expected in the front, but the rear is about exactly a 3/4" drop. I absolutely love the stance now. I know it doesn't compare to those that are dropped on coils, but for $250 and a half day's work, this is a huge improvement over the stock ride height. First are before pics, front and then rear.......

Now the after pics, front and then rear.....

Factory 18s, with 225/40/18s on front and 255/40/18s on the rear.

Do you have to change out the shocks since you changed the springs?
