The part nimber for front pads for 92-2000 SC 400 is:
04465 24021.

That should answer you question.

I was told the SC300 had smaller front brakes than the SC400 in 92-94 models at least. Can anyone verify? PCMW, you have an SC300 and you've seen my front brakes. Do you remember if they are the same or different?

Default Part #'s

Lex, FYI;
Part no.s for SC400 pads are:93-95= 04465 24010, 95-98= 04465 24040, and 99-00=04465 24021.
Calipers are: Left 92-98= 47750 24041, Left 99-00=47750 24082. Right is a differnt part # for each.

Hope it helps...

So then they are slightly different? Your first post said the SC400 pads were 24021, then you said the SC300 pads are 24010. Anyone want to refute or confirm?

Wink

its late, and i have old eyes, sorry.
I am looking at a parts bokk, trying to type in the stuff. Like I tried to clarify: the multiple pad usage is for the SC300. The SC400 seems to use only one (1) style pad, and one (1) style rotor available.

These numbers are from document ARB 8902 & 8904.

That's my story..... and i'm sticking to it!

Guess I'm the one who told lex400sc the front brakes on Sc300 are smaller. They are actually thinner I believe. SC400 have 32-34mm thick rotors ( can't remember and don't have my service manual here with me ). But it seems from what 928owner is saying, 99-00 SC300 have the same part number as SC400 92-94 but previous years do not.

Thumbs up

Nick,

That's right! The chart LexParts supplied is a pretty good document to use. The only difference is that his chart is production model indexed, and the parts book I have is year driven. His is actually better, as they can make changes through the production year. That takes the guesswork out.

Nice Job!

lex400sc,
I don't think the parts are interchangeable SC300 calipers won't fit on the thicker SC400 rotors, but owners of older pre 98 SC300 can upgrade to the thicker SC400 rotors by buying the calipers, brackets, rotors, and asociated brake hardware.

928owner,
Yes, it seems like Lexus likes to made mid year changes alot. One of my brother's car ( VQT ) fuel lid has a place for you to hang the gas cap and the other car does not. Both are 93 SC400

928owner,
Yes I'm the "brother" he mentions all the time. Thought I might start stopping by the forums since I will be taking the green SC off his hands soon.
