Prothane lca bushings can be put into 97+ lca with minor modification. It's been done enough times to be proven true. The information for newer cars isn't as abundant on this forum because a good majority of the members have always had 92-96 SC's.

If you have ever seen what a new OEM bushing looks like uninstalled you'll understand why it has to be modified. There is a diy thread if you want to search for it, but it is a few years old now, so it might be hard to find.

I will be doing the 92-96 comparison on a 97 arm this weekend. I will post 100% what needs to happen. I have heard different things from people who swear but it all conflicts...lol

Are you comparing stock bushings or trying to figure out what needs to happen for the Prothane bushing to fit?

and point being if the 92-96 bushings dont fit the 97 arms, would state the geometry is different, depending on your results. ill compare a set of 92 arms to my 97s while out of car.

Hey coupe next question....so you can make pre bushings fit post models. But if you use prelcas in post models bushings are slide in fit and there's no other geometry issues ?

The arms bolted in like stock and the car was aligned back to oem spec. It drives perfectly now compared to before with a torn bushing.

The only reason I used the early model LCA was because I had it readily available, and I could prep the arms to install the bushings in advanced. Which would then only require me to swap the LCA and align the car in the same day which would eliminate down time.

If I had known how easy it was to remove the oem bushing I would have installed the prothane bushings into the 98 arms from the start.

They will fit the 97+ but there is NO way for it to fit properly and last without premature wear of the bushing as the tube in the middle of the big ear bushing is not long enough to go the whole length of the bushing as I waqs just at this crossroad to which I decided on skipping the prothanes all together and made my own bushings to fit my 97 the proper way.
