Exclamation Swaping out my Rear struts tomorrow Need some help!

Hi Guys I am going to swap out my stock rear struts and strut mounts tomorrow. I picked up some new KYB's. Was wondering what tools I will need to do this job? I already have spring compressors in case I need to use them to get the struts out. But any info or walk through would be great! Thanks guys! Im thinking prob a 2-3 hour job to do the rear. I already ordered the fronts as well as the mounts but there not here yet. Looking forward to the handleing improvement once this is done. Car currently has 200k miles on it and I dont think they have ever been changed lol I have herd mixed reviews saying you can replcae the struts with and without have a spring compressor but have yet to fing anything on CL. Thanks again!

i suggest you use the spring compressor. its not 100% necessary but safer, and since you have them and its your first time, i'd say use it.

Thumbs up only got 1 done today

Well today was sorda a success. I got the rear driver side done. But I pulled the 19mm bolt out before compressing the spring (doh!) was a pain in the *** so I had to cut the old strut out. Took a while and there is not alot of space to do this job, But I did get the new KYB mount and strut in. As expected I knew this would take a while the first time so next weekend I will get the passanger side done and I just ordered new fronts as well so I am super stoked to feel the hadleing difference. Next weekend! Also got the new fuel filter in so all in all a productive day. Thanks for the info thats a great write up!
