Default My Girlfriend Says my GS430 Brakes to Hard!

My Girlfriend Says my 2001 GS430 Brakes to Hard! I had the brakes worked on at the dealer about 9,000 miles ago when they changed the Pads and also the rotors under warranty. It does brake well but does seem more difficult recently to stop smoothly. What could be wrong? These are the original GS430 brakes and my car has about 33,900 miles on it.

Have to concentrate to make the car stop fully without feeling a small jolt. She says every time I put my foot on the brake at any speed it feels uncomfortable. It never seemed to bother her until about 2 months ago. It does not bother me that much but she keeps complaining about it.

Ceoart:

Do you have stock springs and shocks? Before I got L-Tuned springs and shocks I always felt the car's nose dives too much on braking and lifts on when accelerating. This makes the ride too uncomfortable for my taste.

That's what I was going to say!

Or - "OK Honey, don't drive the GS. There, problem solved."

Seriously though, if you just got them replaced, and it's not braking as it was before, the pads may not be broken in yet, or were improperly broken in i.e. glazing of pads or rotors.

Just a thought.

Sounds like a high maintenance girlfriend. Certainly higher maintenance than the car.

well I know the GS has a breaking system that measures how fast and how hard u apply the breaks and will apply more preassure, so if u press them kinda fast the car will make itself stop even faster so tell her be gentlier on the breaks or stop pressing them suddenly and see if it goes away...

I have the same experience with my car. When you hold the brake pedal down to stop at a light, at the very end right before you come to a stop the brakes grab hard and the car jerks a bit. My car has been doing that since I got it. Now I just let off on the brake a little before I come to a stop.
