Default Question about rear sway install

I just got my new F-sport sway bar, but am unclear about something (and could not find the answer here in the forums). I removed the old bar, but the metal "holder" that holds the bushing is attached to the current bushing. Should the new bar have come with a new brackets to hold the new bushings or is there a way to remove the current bracket?

I have a 2011 IS350 RWD.

There was a bushing change with the rear bar on the 2009+ IS, but the set for the earlier models can me made to fit. Read this thread:

Thanks for the link. I searched all over and could not find this. I did the same cutting out the old one then grinding the rubber out. My concern is that when I take a hard turn I seem to have more wheel spin than normal (of course the traction control steps in, but it is easier to make this happen now).

Should I be buying different bushing harness or just staying with this "rigged" setup?

^^^^Sorry, I can't really answer the question since I have not had this experience. If the new bushings are tight and don't allow the bar to move, then it should be all right. But, as I said, I don't know for sure. There is another kit for 2009+ models that include new bushing mounts. The bushings that came with your kit are harder then the original rubber ones, so I don't see why they wouldn't work with the older brackets.

I contacted the place I bought the sway bar from and they agreed to send me the brackets at no charge.

This is pretty lucky since my local dealer quoted me $54 apiece!
