rear sway bar bushing size question

rear sway bar bushing size question
I have a 97 sc400 and ordered sway bar bushings for the front and rear only to find that the wrong size for the rear was sent. The guy has no problem replacing them with the correct size but the problem is finding out what size they are on the rear. I don't have a set of calipers to measure so was hoping someone would know what size the rear bushings are for a 97.
Thanks!!

It should be 24mm.
Funny you posted this because I tried to install Prothane rear sway bushings (SC Spec, 24mm) on my Soarer the other week and they were too big. After a bit more research, I'm lead to believe that the Soarer uses a 22mm rear swaybar, and the SC uses a 24mm rear swaybar.
Can anyone confirm? I'd like some swaybar bushes that fit properly and I'm sure the OP would too!

I bought some prothane 22mm's to try on for the rear so I can confirm that they are too small, I tried to force it to close over the bar by bolting in the bracket but it wouldnt do a damn thing.
So, 24mm's sounds like it could be correct? I dont have a caliper to measure.

Something strange is going on....susposed to be 24mm on the rear but I just measured mine and a 22mm open end wrench slid perfectly over it so apparently the rear bushings on a 97 sc400 are 22mm....or at least on mine they are. I'm damn confused

ok...did some more research and lexus did show a part change on the rear sway bar bushings from 97 and up which is 48818-24030. I've measured the rear sway on the car and it is indeed 22mm which is definately not the 24mm that everyone says is susposed to fit. So being a 22mm....can anyone tell me which one to buy? I need to make sure it fits the oem brackets.

update, I just ordered Prothane sway bar bushings for my '98 SC300 from Jeg's, front's fit perfect, rears were too big, they were 24mm bushings, my rear bar measured 22mm. I spoke with Dominic in Technical at Prothane, I mentioned other people on CL had problems like this or the bushings being too small and he was unaware of it, but would welcome more comments. He said the only thing they have in 22mm is the universal kit, so that's the route I'll go after I return the 24mm's to Jeg's.

I just did F&R sways and rack bushings.
If you read the whole thread this guys post is correct. I just measured my OEM rear bushings off the 97 and its 22mm
I ordered 24 as well. If you order from energysuspensionparts.com their part finder will steer you to a 24mm for a 97+
1997+ is 22mm
