Suspension and Brakes Springs, shocks, coilovers, sways, braces, brakes, etc.

How the hell do some of you guys get away with riding so low?

Thats basically how mine are^^^

were you asking about my front fender liners? I never took them out, just trimmed about an inch off of the outer edge. They are still 90% there.

The only reason I even considered to hammer it flat is because if you see the left part of it, its actually flat, but for some reason they made the seam to point downwards towards the right part of it. Probably for something the screws of the fender liner to hold on to.
Has anyone tried shaving off that metal tab? I took a rubber hammer and went at it but in the end it turned out to look just like that. And every now and then i still scrape.

No matter what you do, if you lowered it to a certain point that it scrapes, even if you completely remove that tab/seam, it'll still scrape when you hit rough roads or bumps. What's important is, bend the tab to the point of it not too sharp to slice your tires.

you need stiffer springs on your coilovers. stiffening up the coilover dampening will help with the rebound hits, but not the initial hit over the bump.

i wouldn't say i'm as low as some of the other guys here, but i put my car through the ringer and it gets pretty low from the compression. i've gone through 3 fender liners before i said forget it and just kept them off.

also, i manage to keep without bottoming out in terms of bumps/speed bumps through the use of an air cylinder installed on top of my coilovers.

max height on the air system

normal ride height

The air cylinder between the spring and pillowball mount.

if going to a stiffer spring setup isn't possible, you're simply either going to have switch out to a full airbag setup, something similar to what i have, or live with it and plan your route accordingly; avoiding certain lanes that have imperfections and so on.

From where did you get your air cups?
How much did they cost?

got them from MVP motorsports. may want to contact them as the yen to dollar conversion isn't that great anymore. i paid ~3.5k for front and rear setups.

One word...bags! I took apart the megan coilovers. Replaced the spring with a convoluted air bag. Then drive with it at different psi combo. To find the spring rate you like...adjust the perch so that psi you like is at your ride height. Then use the damping ability of the shock to compensate for the rest. I havent noticed it lacking over coilovers alone. plus when you can park you can dump it, or max it out for horrible roads!
