Default going through the same thing

I am going through the same decision making headache - go the H&R/Bilstein or L-tuned route.

Anyone else with some direct feedback on both setups? On a scale of 1 - 10 performance wise, what score would you give the H&R/Bistein compared to the L-tuned one?

I got a quote yesterday from www.shox.com and the Bilstein Sport shocks are $419.00 and the H&R Springs are $289.00 with a $20 discount on the total if I bought both sets at the same time. The killer is the shipping cost which is $75.00 (ouch) to Canada. There is a seperate charge for each part because the guy is having them shipped directly from some big distributor and the H&R springs are coming from California whereas the Bilstein shocks are coming from Washington.

Does anyone here know any other company where I can buy these from so that I don't pay such a high shipping fee?

eclassico - You don't really here complaints from the people here who have done either. With my bilsteins, I developed a strange "squeak" about a month after install but before my shop could look at it, it went away, never to return. The only thing I have seen posted about the l tuned is a "squeak" that can develop from the shock which is very strange. Gs4will - you have anything to add? As for me, I just received the four sport bilsteins from shox.com and they go on my wifes GS3 when we get a break in our schedule. Miguel at Carson already shipped the TRD sways to me that go on when the weather gets a little warmer. Don't intend to change springs, the stocks are just fine with the other upgrades, just have that larger tire to fender gap that a lot people want to get rid of. I was just more concerned about handling. Good luck....

Ltuned shocks come with extra bump stops, and in the past, when CL guys use them, they get annoying creaking sound. the solution to this is to use the existing factory shock bump stops

Hey William. You know me, already have the bilsteins. GS4 is the very dark blue while the new GS3 is parchment which is a metallic white (not like the pearl white that comes from mica flakes, this looks like regular aluminum metalflakes, looks light silver under some lighting, white under others). The difference in color is fairly dramatic, the white one looks smaller than the blue. Of course, it is just looks, but the eye can really be tricked.
