Default Time for new rotors?

While I was working on my springs today, one of the shop attendants came over to see if I needed help and he saw my rotors and said I definitely need to change them. You can feel a lip on the edge of them, do they need to be replaced? How do I tell?

I attached a picture of what I'm talking about. Thanks

My rotors are similar to yours right now and I will replace it soon. You can either replace it now or you can wait until your pads are completely worn out. That's when you will hear a squeeky sound because the pads are too thin and the shims are touching it rotors.

My pads have plenty of life left so I'm just gonna replace it all at once. Thanks guys! How difficult is it to change rotors? I've never done it before. The only experience I have is installing springs and a RSB.

the method to tell if a rotor needs to be replaced is to measure the width. rotors have a minimum width specification. if a rotor has uneven wear u can have it resurfaced, in which theyll remove a bit of the surface material. as long as they dont remove so much material that its below the 'minimum width' youll be good.

but replacing rotors is a fairly easy job.
secure the car (chalks, jack stands, similar)
relieve the pressure on the braking system
remove a bolt or few to get the caliper out of the way,
remove rotor
reinstall caliper
add additional brake fluid and bleed braking system, if needed.

How do I relieve the pressure from the brake system?

crack open the bleed screws on the brake calipers.
