Dear god no! Please do not cut your springs as there is NO way to do it properly unless you have a set of nf201's and want to cut 1 dead coil off.

If you can't afford it, don't touch it till you can afford a proper set of springs or coils. Simple as that, you have NO idea how unsafe it is. Do a google search and you'll see some examples of what happens to stock springs that are cut..

Actually, here's one example of another idiot who decided to be cheap and cut their springs..

dumbest idea EVER..

It's not going to come out well, and coilovers for this car are not that expensive.
Save your money and do it properly, in the long run it will be cheaper, and save you time and money.

You can ask not to hear about what we think about cutting, but ultimately this is a website about giving advice. And their is no proper way to cut your springs without putting yourself at unnecessary risk. That is the only advice you'll get from me.

Yup. I am the person who took this famous photo. That was my friend's Mitsu Lancer(he bought it that way) that needed new suspension because it rode horribly. Luckily I changed those springs with some Teins. You should have seen his face when I showed him how these springs looked on his new car.
