Default Original Brakes Lasted How Long?

How many miles did you folks get out of your original brakes and pads on the IS 250?

this will vary tremendously based on a number of factors of both the way the person drives and what type of driving they do (and somewhat less on if they're running the high or low dust pads)

I've seen folks claim they "needed" to replace their brakes at 15-20k miles... and others with well over 50,000 and plenty of life left.

I've got a 350 myself, original rotors, low dust pads put on around 7k miles, and based on current rate of wear I expect to get roughly 60,000 miles out of them before they're at min spec.

IS350, 31k miles, OE dusty pads. Started minor squealing at slow speeds. Then 2k miles later the inner driver side pad was MIA. All other pads had plenty of meat left.

My brakes are at 72k without being changed. I would have thought the front brakes would have been changed when I bought the car (CPO) but apparently they had plenty of pad left. Previous owner did EVERYTHING at the dealer (Even wipers and balancing wheels) and I see no record of brakes being changed previously.

i changed mine at 38k miles only because the front passenger pad showed uneven wear and started squeaking, so instead of changing just one pad i did all four, rears had about 20k miles left evenly worn, the front driver side could have been used for another 10k miles

Low dust OEM.... no real reason to use aftermarket unless you're running the car on a racetrack

Depends on the year and country. For you, yes.

IS350, I just changed my rear pads myself at 46k, mind you this was after I tracked the car for 2 days at a Drivers Edge event. I do try to minimize braking in my daily driving. My fronts are still 50% because I used the low dust TSB after I tracked. I tracked the car around 7500 miles. So the fronts have close to 40k on them and still 50% or so

I made it to 60K miles on my pads, had the low-dust TSIB done at 15K.

Still on my original rotors. They should last until ~75K based on the rate they seem to be wearing. (Though maybe more, because I'm not sure if the dealer re-surfaced the rotors when they did the TSIB. I'll have to check my records.)
