need some help with f-sport springs on '11 IS250 AWD
Looking for some advice here!
I have a 2011 IS250 AWD, and finally decided to lower my car. I looked through some car forums online, and found someone selling a set of F-Sport lowering springs.
Part#: PTR07 53080
It turns out there is actually a TSIB out for these specific set of springs, where it makes a clunking sounds from the rear springs.
Source of TSIB: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sus...tsib-help.html
I mentioned this 'defect' to the seller, and this is what he responded back to me with:
The reason for the rear clunk was due to the coils contacting itself
The fix was to insulate the tighter parts of the coil with plastic shielding
As you can see in the picture, I have already performed that fix
The TSIB however, states that the rear springs are to be replaced, and can only be done 12 months within the purchase date. If ur outside the 12 months, you're SOL.
I called Lexus for some assistance, and naturally they tell me they'd call me back after some reasearch to see if:
a) these springs would fit a 2011 IS250 AWD (these came off an 06)
b) If the plastic shielding is an acceptable solution to the clunking issue.
They said they'd call me back and never did...
Thoughts? Opinions?
Should I just pass these up, or does the clunking only affect certain models?
Is it better to go coils, instead of piecing together f-sport springs and finding f-sport shocks or doe those even exist for AWD?
Thanks for any input you guys have!
