Okay guys, so I've been having this really annoying grinding sound in the rear. I took a look at my left rear caliper and rotor and noticed the outside perimeter of the rotor was chewed up.

I figurd it's been a few years since I had replaced the caliper, so I went ahead and ordered two rear calipers, new rear pads, and two new rotors. I put them all on, bleed everything out, and the noise is still there.

After driving around on a day or so, I take a look at the left rear again, and it's the same thing!

Pedal doesn't feel spongy or anything. Anyone have any ideas what it could be?

brake shims touching the rotor. on the left side only?

yup only left side.

Brake shims? The metal pads that are on the back side of the brake pads?

that little piece of metal on the corners of the pads. not sure if its called shims. jack up the car and spin the wheel and see if you can hear the grinding sound. should be an easy fix just need to observe.

also. grinding or humming? humming might be a wheel bearing.

its like a grind squeal lol, no humming. Something is causing the caliper not to spring loose.

And what makes me worried is the last set the same thing.
