I'm about to get these SPC ball joints installed on my IS250 but I heard from someone that I will not be able to have my car slammed as the upper control arm will hit the top portion of the wheel well...

Can anyone confirm this?

I'm lowered to a tad less than 24" fender-to-ground...aka slammed. I ONLY hit the UCA against the upper wheel well on huge potholes or bumps. If you're afraid of damaging the ball joint due to this...don't be. The SPC ball joint is SAFER than the OEM ball joint in these cases, as the OEM unit is just pressed into the UCA and can/will pop out on BAD bumps (happened to me!). The SPC is afixed to either side the UCA, so it'll not pop out.

If you find yourself to the point where you're hitting the UCA against the upper wheel well too often for your liking, you can always do this :

I really appreciate the info. I'm currently sitting on 18" wheels at around 24" from the ground to the center lip of the fenders. Now that I got my worries out of the way... I'll proceed to installing them.

Gvilleis250 ...what did u exactly do . Cut a hole under the hood rite above the uca?? I just installed spc balljoint last week. N over some bumps/pot hole on 40mph It seem like hitting some parts kind of loud n I don't like the sound of it.

^I didn't cut a hole, I grabbed that picture of the net from another Lexus model vehicle. You need to confirm that it is indeed the top of the SPC nut hitting the underside of the fender-area; it could be a loose nut/bolt or the ball joint not seated fully into the UCA.

GL!

^Yeah, I can see you'd be banging then. What rim/tire combo are you running? I'm on stockers still, but running 35 series sidwall BFG KDWs. ~24" fender to ground.

Gville... you're everywhere! ha ha

I've been having this issue ever since I installed the SPC camber ball joints. I'm at 23" from the floor to the top portion of the fender. I got used to the thumping noise whenever I hit a dip or a bump in the road. I was thinking about cutting a hole where it hits. Has anyone had any issues after they cut it?

^i don't think I've read about any 2IS owners having actually drilled the hole yet in there shock tower. Just don't cut it any bigger than it needs to be. I'm sure it'll be structurally fine.
