Default Eating rear tires way too fast

I know its rwd, but my mustang didnt even eat tires like this and it spun going into 3rd and got driven WAY harder. The wear is pretty much even but being rwd Im guessing its a suspension issue? the 20 year old shocks/springs ride rough...could it be they wear faster from all the bouncing around the rear does due to needing to replace the shocks/springs? Any other ideas what it could be. I know I am in need of an alignment, but the fronts arent really having trouble.

Yup an alignment is in order and most likely your bushings on the rear control arms etc are shot.

I would also consider changing the speed rating of your tires. The V speed rating tires have average to below average tread life. I went to a higher more reliable speed rating tire, which was the H rating and have been happy with my tire wear.

I have the same issue but found a cheap fix for it.

.... Just turn the boost controller down

But seriously, don't bother aligning it again unless you replace the bushings.

Most likely the springs are fine however the shocks most likely are shot.

Which shocks did you end up going with? I'm in need of some new shocks as well, so I'd be interested how you like them?

^ When i replace my shocks i usually go with KYB. They ride a lot better than the stock shocks imo. But ive never swapped em on an Sc.. Just my 2cents.

The Tokico blues are the best bang for the buck. They are used on several SC' s along with mine. They ride great and I have never ever had a problem with them since install. Knock on wood.
