Default Anyone ever have a caliper bolt fall out?

On my front passenger side, the top bolt holding the caliper fell out!

I was hearing a noise similar to the fender liner just rubbing against the tire, as it was the caliper body dangling off the bottom bolt and rubbing inside the wheel. By hand, I could compress the piston somewhat and rotate it back into place.

Had to go out during lunch to pick up the bolt from a dealership and slowly drive home to install it. Has this happened to anyone else before?

No, it's just the bolt that attaches the caliper to the sliding pin. The bolt is installed from inside, behind the caliper, something like a 14mm or so hex.

Default Not the only one.

Last night While driving to the store I herd a loud pop from the front right wheel well and after applying the breaks the entire wheel locked up. The bolt had come out of the caliper and the caliper fell forward against the inside of the rim digging itself into the rim and locking up the tire. I was able to get the car off the road without any trouble but had to have the car towed back to the house.

I had the dealership replace that very same bolt not a week before.

If anyone knows the correct torq weight for the bolt I would be very greatful as i will be taking care of future repairs considering the dealership is inept

^^Sorry its a 1999 Lexus GS 300. Any help in finding a complete spec sheet on the car would be helpful as the internet is sadly lacking in any info on this make and model.
