Default BC racing with Swift springs owners, what is your damping setup?

Im just about ready to install my BC racing coils with Sift Spring 12k/10k on my IS

i found alot of info on springs rates etc, but there isnt much on damping.

Im just curious as to what everyone is setting the damping (how many clicks from stiffest) on your coils.

I know everyone is different, and some have different spring rates as well as different wants and needs, but am interested in whats the sweet spot that people have found for various setups.

Running BC on my 350 12k/10k, 1.5 finger gap up front, .5 finger gap in the back. 24/32 up front and 26/32 in the back w/ no rubbing on the freeway

yea pics pls,

so ur at 24F and 26R clicks from stiffest? how does that ride? isnt that kinda soft? how does the car deal with uneven surfaces and sudden elevation changes?

I also worry bout the issue if bounciness that i read some users suffered. (forgot which car though, might not have been an IS)

I know for the F the recc springs rates are 14k/10k and 9 clicks in the front and 14 clicks in the rear from full hard.

when i spoke to figs about this for the IS X50 he said start at 15 clicks front and back and adjust accordingly. Im kinda looking for some tried and tested damping levels.

a general technical question to whoever can answer:

Is there a reason why the damping is set stiffer in the front compared to the rear? ive read that some people do the opposite (Rear stffier than front)
but which is best for handling dynamics?

I'm on BC 14k/12k and running full stiff all around. 1 finger gap from fender to rim up front and no gap in the rear.

Sorry i'm at 8 clicks from max on front and 6 from the max on the rear. Basically out of 32 settings on the front i'm at 24 and the back is at 26, close to max stiff. If I was running it the other way around my car would slam into the ground on every little bump! lol

The reason you go stiffer in the front is because you have an extra 1000 lbs up there from the engine bay that you don't have in the rear that and most people are trying to avoid scraping on bumps up front, not really a problem you will have in the rear of the car unless your really low in which case you will scrap your exhaust tips.

I'll post a pic when I get home... Have yet to post up a pic with my new wheel setup.

Doesnt the fact that u got stiffer spring rates of 12kg/mm in the front and 10 in the rear already make up for the weight of engine?

Regardless this convo and alot of searching has been quite helpful. Instead of starting at 15 clicks from stiffest front and rear, i think i might start at 10 clicks in the front and 12 in the rear and see what happens. It is still a bit confusing as its a mix between personal preference and functionality.

why are u stiffer in the rear than in the front?

I'm stiffer in the rear because my back wheels are freakin huge and I was tearing up my rear fender slamming it into the wheel while on the freeway (got about a 70 mile round trip on the freeway everyday for work). I've got a camber kit on them now and the top of the tire is tucked and even at the stiff setting it gets reallllly close to rubbing but doesn't.

What I did was started on max stiff, and worked my way down 1 click a day until it was at a good point.

thats a good idea, do u have the extenders? i didnt get those, i wonder how much of a pita it will be to adjust damping regularly till i get it right

what wheel setup do u have?

Im on tein springs right now, with a rim/tire setup of 19x8.5 (+20) 225/35 and 19x9.5 255/35 (+15), and i bottom out on sudden highway elevation changes. I really hope i dont have my wheels dont slam into the fenders

I do have the extenders. If you leave your trunk liner out until you dial it in it won't be a big deal at all, if not your gonna have to peal back your liner everytime you want to adjust them. I'm runnin 20x9 n 20x10 Strasse Forged S5 CF wheels
