Creaking F Sport Brakes
Hi All,
I actually own a GS350 and not an IS350 but I know many IS350 owners have added F Sport brakes to their cars.
I installed my F Sport brakes about 2 years ago and I am now replacing my 2nd set of Front Rotors (each has lasted about 15,000 to 20,000 miles) because they develop a ticking and then progressively worse 'creaking' noise when the brake pedal is fully depressed. The rotor surface is fine, the pads are fine, it seems that the 2 piece rotor is failing and thus the creaking noise is from the the 2 pieces compressing.
My dealer replaced the first set at no cost but on the 2nd set they want me to buy new pads and tell me that the next time they fail it is on me. Lexus claims that all you can expect for lifetime with BBK is 20,000 to 25,000 miles. I do not track this car, I just drive highway miles nor do I do a lot of high drama braking to impress folks. A call to StopTech told me that I should get lifetime of 80% of normal rotors and creaking is usually seen by people tracking their cars.
Anybody who has F Sport brakes...have you seen similar problems?
Thanks in advance.

I have 25k on my rotors and I do some aggressive braking, I have had no issues with creaking, although I am not exactly sure what you mean. If they are cold they will make a slight squeak right as you stop and the pad bites on to the rotor. Once they are warmed up that goes away.

I have some of that too when I first start the car. This is a sound like a rusty spring being compressed and I only hear it when the brake pedal is fully depressed or the car is coming to a full stop. I am beginning to believe that the problem is with my dealer and their ability to install the brakes.
