Default Springs "Settling"

Hey gang - I'm getting conflicting thoughts on springs settling the first week after install. Some say that the car drops further, some say it does not.

Does anyone have experience with this?

I upgraded to the OEM sport springs with a 0.4" drop (front). After install the car sits about the same height as my 3yr old non-sport springs, so I'm hoping to get a bit more drop from the get go.

Many members in here mentioned that It's the bushings that actually settle, the springs aren't, thus make the ride height lower after a week or so.

I don't know if it's true. But my ride height went lower within a month after installing my springs.

Serach "Bushing Reset" and you shall find.

I am no expert, but from what Ive heard from many members on here is that spring do NOT settle.

What people call springs settling, is actually the spring bushings which were not properly reset and is the installers fault.

Look at the sticky at the top of this very forum, it has info on properly resetting the bushings during install.

And no, springs don't "settle' (unless there's something wrong with em)

I'm on BC Racing coilovers (12k/8k) that I installed in Dec/Jan '11/'12. I installed them at a 2.5" ride height all around. I've started to notice corners I used to not scrape the wheel liner on that I do now or more often. I checked the ride height again several weeks ago and it's near 3" up front (didn't care to check the rears). Of course I never adjusted the ride height again since the original install, but it appears my front springs settled near .5". I know according to everything I've read and seen online that springs don't settle much...if any after installation. But...I don't know what to think now.
