Default Rear Suspension Noise

I have a 1995 Lexus SC300 with 150K, It run great. But I heard a lot of Noise from the rear suspension, Don't know where it come from? Bushing or wheel. Some time when I getting off my car before closing the door, I also hear the same noise. If I push on top of my trunk and trying to pushing it down. The same noise always come out. One strange thing was, after every raining day, the road is wet, the sound will totally disappear. Can Somebody tell me what happend? or What might be happended? How can I solve the problem, where can I get the bushing?

The bushings are as follows in the rear.

Control arms = not available yet.
Sway bars = stocks at $6each and Daizens $27 front/rear

My guess would be the sway bar bushings because the control arms don't make that kind of a noise. Go to www.tmengineering.net and order the Daizens. Your will be very happy.

Default The Machanic Said

I don't know much about car, One time the Machanic told me the bushing next to the "Differential' Bushing" was making the noise. Are these bushing next to the differential's bushing called "Sway bars"?

Yes.

Get those, take the car to a shop, ask them to find the noise. If they find the noise is not the sway bars, have them install the bushings anyway. Then write up an estimate for the noisy part.

Thank you very much.

What if the rear bushing (May be all of them) has to be replace. Can I buy something like this as well? My main concern is Having order one time since my car is 150K and from North. Bushing is gone for sure. I would rather order one time for all....(Read lot of argument about which one is better or something. I don't care how hard to take it our as long as that is a rubber, and somebody did that. I would be buy it. Machanic will do it. Not a big deal!) If you can tell me what I need to order for all the rear suspension bushing. Would be really appreciated.

Again,

rear bushings are NOT availible....only the front control arm bushings are availible.

You would need to get all new rear arms to fix the problem.

Don't bother with the alignment until you firm up the suspensionn problem. Otherwise you will just be re-aligning it again.

Hermosa posted something about a rear bolt that can be retightened...look that up and see if that helps.

I had the same problem a while back. Took it to the dealer to check. They said the cross member nuts were not tightened to specs and tightened it. Problem solved. Cost $150.

Make sure that the shop who do your springs/shocks follow the specs.
