The weather has got cold, which dropped the the tire psi to 28. A particular section of freeway which is also the start of my commute has some imperfections, and caused a pretty decent steering wheel shake at 65.
I inflated the tires to 34psi (at the ambient temp,) and the shake is 95% reduced.
So yes, I will agree with your results and do try fiddling with your psi and it can be a factor. You probably don't need 40 though.
