Default IS250 vs IS350 rear calipers

I was wondering, if there is any difference between the 250 and 350 rear calipers? I have a 250 and plan on doing the is350 front calipers and grab me drilled/slotted rotors for the front, but as for the back, I have no clue on what to do because I don't know if it's the same.

1. I plan on just swapping out the rotors and getting the drilled/slotted for the rears as well but for the IS250 rotor not the 350.

IS350's have vented rear rotors, most IS250's do not. (2011+ IS250 F-Sport models and IS250C's do have the vented rear rotors).

The calipers likewise are different to accommodate the thicker discs.

Bringing the dead back from the grave.

Does anyone know if just upgrading the front calipers to the IS350's and NOT the rear(leaving it IS250 calipers) would have any ill affect on the way the car brakes?

Ideally, if I should be updating the calipers, I should upgrade both right?

It shouldn't cause any problems. Even Lexus states the F-Sport Big Brake kit can be used on just the front if you want without issue.

^Jeff, between the 250 and 350 rear calipers, are there really that much of a difference anyways?

I recently converted my IS250 rear brakes to IS350 ones, and the shape of the caliper is different. The size on the other hand looks very similar, can't really tell that there's a difference. Both calipers are still single piston, so there isn't that much of a difference.

^Thanks for the first-hand comparison. I didn't think there would have been much of a difference.

There isn't much difference between the IS250 and IS350 as far as the rear calipers go (piston size or pad area), the main difference is the thickness of the rotors.

Like Jeff stated there are no negative effects to doing this. I personaly had just the front IS350 calipers on my old 250 6MT without any issues what so ever.

I wonder if the IS-F brake master cylinder would be an upgrade to what comes in the 250/350 models.

You're correct, the IS350 rear rotors are about an inch bigger compared to the IS250 rear rotors, but we're talking about the calipers...

This is definitely a noob question , would be glad if someone answered without asking me to search for it online.

Are the front and rear brake pads the same for the non-f sport IS 250 and IS 350 2010 model RWD vehicles ? I mean can they be fitted on ether of the cars freely without any adjustments ?
