popping noise over bumps. help please
I cannot get rid of this popping noise on my front end when hitting bumps, it feels like my car is gonna fall apart, i replaced and checked the following...
98 gs400
LBJ: tight no movement
Sway bar links: brand new just replaced
Struts: very good on bounce test no noise
What else should i look for? Lca cracked bushings? Tie rod ends maybe? When im on the highway my front end shakes a little at 60+ and feels wobbly, all i hear is pop pop pop going over the littlest of bumps, someone please help me out, feel like im driving a Cavalier...

I too have popping noises like the ones you described, but I have the LBJ and tie rods sitting in my basement waiting for the first day of good weather to replace them. I am hoping that is my problem. But I have heard a number of people on here say that the transmission mount going bad can cause those noises as well.

When my motor mounts were shot (actually completely separated on the driver side and split on the passenger side), my front end would clunk over bumps. There certainly weren't any pops.
If what you have is really "popping" that's usually joint related. I.e. balljoints, tie rods, top hats (assuming you have coilovers).
A broken control arm bushing would clunk more than "pop"
It's a good idea to check those motor/trans mounts however as they are often shot after 100K miles.

Well i just.checked the motor mounts and wow, my drivers side is shot, the whole right side of the engine lifts up easily, very scary, my passenger side is going to, could this be my popping clunk noise? Anyone have recomendations on parts? No coilovers here btw, 125k stock
