Question steering ?s play in steering wheel?

Anyone know anything about this problem, this is for the gs400:
when the car is off, driving slow, or small abrupt bumps, the steering wheel seems loose? i asked a lex dealer once and they told me a bunch of bs, i had checked out a toyota dealer and they said they checked, everything is ok. i heard theres a box where you can tighten the steering? someone also suggested a new allignment? does anyone know about the recalibrated steering ecu? just wanted to see if anyone could help me solve this mystery.

You would be referring to the Ltuned steering ECU, which should run you about $150 or so. Though I have not done the mod myself, many members of this site have done it with most reporting that they were impressed by the increased "tightness" in the steering feel. I know l-tunedparts.com sells them...might wanna check there

Default Steering rack

L-tuned helps but more soo during aggresive driving. Some members have talked about tightening the steering rack. I am gonna do so soon.

yes, the ltuned ecu is only effective when it's at high speed. at low speed it will still be loose. the steering wheel pretensioner adjustment is not for every car, it has to be done according to each TSIB.

it's all coz' that the steering wheel is speed sensored. at low speed it's designed to turn more easily

Arrow loose steering

well my problem has to do with the stock steering. is it supposed to have play? i dont think so, i drove another gs400 and it didnt have the play, at low speds. my lex dealer blamed it on it being lowered which is bs. the reason i dont go to them, they are full of it.

I am having the same problem. Only when driving slow or coming to a stop. If there are any bumps in the road, my steering wheel goes crazy. I bought my 430 used with 22k miles, had the tires roadforced and rotated. Also has an alignment done. THEN I took it to my lex dealer, they replaced the front rotors and turned the rears. They also said my caliper bolts were loose. Most of it went away but it still does it sometimes. I purchased the L-Tuned ECU, hopefully that will help too.....
