HA does not come with upper mount, so you will have to use your factory plastic upper mount unless you purchase an aftermarket upper mount from somewhere else. However, RA DOES come with upper mount, so you won't need to worry about purchasing additional parts,RA is design for drift also RA's spring rate is very intense, I believe it's spring rate is F/8,R/6 ....also HA is old and people who are equipped with them complain about the rusting on the part where the thread is so there Tien came up with a new lineup called FLEX. It has teflon coating so it won't rust, also different valve design on the absorbor but it comes in softer spring rate than HA. One good thing about FLEX is it comes with upper mount.

Correct me if I'm wrong anyone

CS = Comfort Shock, the softest riding coilovers Tein makes.

I assume that they are adjustable too - so you could get a firmer ride from them? How much firmer are the RA and HA if you firm up the CS?

Not wrong, but just a small addition

The Tein FLEX damper kit has an optional height control module, similar to the ones that come in imported JDM Soarer V8's. Named the EDFC (Electronic Damping Force Controller), it allows for in-cabin height adjustment instead of taking off the wheels to adjust the height of the strut.

Info on the Tein FLEX

If only it didn't cost AU$3800 or so...

My understanding is that the EDFC only controls damping and rebound, not ride height...

Lex,

Your understanding sounds correct. I have seen the EDFC motors and they merely twist the top of the strut controls. They do not change the perch height as this takes the two wrenches and a bit of force to alter the ride height.

I have a little rust on the threads on top of my HA shocks. Doesn't look bad at all and should clean right off. There shouldn't be a problem w/ using the EDFC w/ the HA's.

Go with the Flex. I have a set and I love them. The car handles so tight I scare my passengers now and get no body roll.
