Question about L-tuned shocks and springs
Hey guys,
I've used the search feature to view the pros and cons for installing the L-tuned suspension. I've noticed that many members have had problems with squeaking noises. Many suggest that the problem is caused by the bushings and others claim that it's the fact that the parts are installed incorrectly. I really want to install the L-tuned suspension, but not if I have to install, un-install, then re-install to figure out the problem. Do anyone have a definite answer for why these squeaking noises occur.
thanks for any information rendered

Mine have been on for 7 months; no squeaks or wierd noises.
I did retain the stock bump stops rather than use the L-Tuned stops based on posts here on CL. Also, T/L stock sway bar bushings tend to deteriorate after 3-4 years and start to make groaning sounds (esp in cold, dry weather) when suspension going thru large amplitude movements like speed humps, but that's not really an L-Tuned issue. (Lubricating the bushings works for a while but eventually they'll need replacement, which is cheap.)
Like Sick said, it's a wonderful thing!!!

I just went through the same research process. I bought my L-Tuned suspension from Steve Ganz at Carson Toyota. I asked him what was the best thing to do. His response was something like keep the stock bumpers and throw the L-Tuned bumbers as far away as possible!
I have driven all of 10 miles on my new L-Tuned setup in 25 degree weather. No noise so far. Went over 3 speed bumps and purposely turned off the stereo to check.

I have a squeak in one of the shocks, but it is being replaced free of charge. Problem solved. I think the L-Tuned suspension is a great way to go for the money...plus they are covered under warranty.
