Default Brake Pad Recommendations?

I need new brake pads soon and I was wondering whether or not to go OEM or after market. Heard that the OEM ones wear out fast and starts making squeaky noises sooner than after market ones. Any advice?

OEM are really all you need, make sure you get the low dust OEM ones if you are buying them for the front. The older ones are a brake dust nightmare. I haven't really heard of OEM brakes wearing out fast.... i've put 50k on my IS250 since I got it and have never had to change the brake pads. From what I know, they weren't replaced when I got it CPO either. Just had the brakes checked the last time it was at the dealer and they are still good so i'm more then happy with the OEM pads

OEMs work fine for me they last a while. I changed my rear pads at 45k and thats after i tracked the car. You can get them for $47 a pair on sewell lexus if you register your forum name there. Brake pads are so easy to change on this car. Get some brake cleaner and anti squeal grease to do your brakes

I have 47k on the 09+ OEM low dust ones and there are still 3-4mm thick. My only complaint is that they do not bite as much as I would like, so I'm switching to akebono next.

If your ever going to swap rotors then you can look into aftermarket brake pads since they are usually designed to work "better" with slotted/drilled/dimpled etc. rotors. If not, OEM work just fine!
